Richard Seaton Metz is a PGA teaching professional and a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He began teaching golf in 1963 and became one of New York’s most recognized instructors. For 35 years, he operated one of the first indoor golf instruction centers in the country, located in Rockefeller Center, New York City.
An instructor to a diverse clientele, including professionals from the sports and motion picture industries, Richard is a member of the South Florida PGA and has taught golfers of all skill levels throughout his career.
He is the author of The Graduated Swing Method (Charles Scribner’s Sons, New York, 1981) and Golf Talk: Lessons From The Practice Tee and More (available on Amazon, 2024). He also served as the golf advisor for the Academy Award- and Golden Globe-winning film A Touch of Class (1973).
